InsightsTalks – learn from the experts

Which trends are a must for my assortment? How can I best present my product range at the point of sale? And how can I give successful sales pitches? Retailers ask themselves these questions daily and experts will provide the answers at the fifth Insights-X from 9 to 12 October 2019. The new presentation format – InsightsTalks – will give retailers and buyers new ideas and information on current retail topics. InsightsTalks will take place from Thursday to Saturday, 11:30 am to 1 pm, at the InsightsArena in Hall 3C and will be simultaneously interpreted so that the speakers can be understood in German and English.  

How can I create shopping experiences?

With online trade on the rise, it is important to create personal in-store shopping experiences in order to gain new customers and keep existing customers loyal. That is why the topic of product presentation will take centre stage at InsightsTalks on the Thursday. Visual marketing expert Sabine Gauditz will explain in her practical talk how best to present products at the point of sale and draw shoppers’ attention. In his presentation on best practice following this, Eyk Nölte, owner of two stationery stores, will explain how he routinely uses events to build customer loyalty. 

What are the back-to-school trends? 

The market for school supplies is not only profitable but also really dynamic, which is why it is important to have a clear understanding of the latest developments. The Friday will be entirely devoted to back-to-school themes. Stefan Meyer of retail consulting firm Handelsberatung Steffens will reveal what is on-trend for 2020 and what retailers can do to raise their profile. Constantin Hatz will then focus on the purchasing of school backpacks. The managing director of the family-run PapierFischer business will show retailers how they can stand out by offering good advice and ensure they are best placed for back-to-school success!

How can I boost sales? 

Given constantly changing consumer behaviour, retailers are required to try new things in order to survive in the market. That is why everything will revolve around successful selling on the Saturday. Jörg Winter has been coaching companies for 30 years and knows what they need to do to ensure success and high sales. Using concrete examples of successful retailers, Winter will provide practical tips on boosting sales in his talk whilst highlighting “no-gos” at the point of sale.

How can I use social media to make sales?

The use of social media has become indispensable in the retail landscape. After all, over 50% of the German population can be reached via YouTube and 80% of Instagram users follow a company. As a result, this important topic will be featured on all three days of the programme. Nico Wutschijewitsch is CEO of digital marketing agency Effektiv and has more than 10 years’ experience in the stationery sector. In his talk, he will provide key insights, hands-on tips and approaches to social media and show how to build bridges to e-commerce.
