Everywhere you looked at Insights-X, which took place from 9 to 12 October 2019, you could see shiny and sparkly items. These days, the outer surfaces of very diverse products like to show off their shimmering side. Since this look especially appeals to school-age children, the first part of our four-part new products report presents a selection of dazzling new products for the back-to-school sector.
The “Trendy” school backpacks from the City Collection by LYC SAC shimmer in four different glittering colours. Besides classic silver and gold, they come in black for cool kids and pink especially for girls – a colour that every assortment simply has to have these days! The company not only focuses on trendy looks, good wearing comfort and a tidy bag interior, but also on sustainable production conditions. The Greek manufacturer, with its own design office in Italy, has its products developed and manufactured mainly in its home country in order to, on the one hand, support the Greek economy and, on the other, be able to guarantee the highest product quality.
Older schoolchildren are not very keen on the usual classic pencil cases, preferring more casual styles, and this model from Stylex is a particularly chic eye-catcher for girls. The "rose gold" model is made of white polyurethane printed with an allover floral pattern in a warm shade of rose gold. The zip and its metal pendant are not just a means to an end but also pretty and have the same fashionable lustre. In this stylish little bag, it is not just school things that are in good hands but also cosmetics and whatever else girls like to carry about with them. This fashionable but casual bag will be available in shops as of January 2020.
Holograms gleam brightly and metallically in new colours – depending on the angle they are viewed at. Pelikan has transferred this special hologram effect to its most popular writing instruments. The new Twist SHINE Mystic fountain pen and rollerball pen seem to change colour at every angle – at times they're shiny green, then purple and sometimes even black. The interplay of colour is also fascinating with the Super Pirate quality ink eradicator. In this case, the colours of the fine design also seem to change from every perspective due to shimmering details. To round off its pens section, Pelikan is now offering a pencil case for the first time ever – in a matching hologram look, of course. The surface shines in numerous shades of colour, making the case an absolute attention-grabber. All Pelikan products of the new SHINE series will be available in shops as of 1 January 2020.
